Shayar Bhansali | Editor

Shayar Bhansali is a film editor based in Los Angeles. Originally from Kolkata, India, Shayar spent the early years of his career focused on documentary editing before transitioning to work on narrative films in Bollywood.

After relocating to LA he edited STANDING UP, FALLING DOWN, directed by Matt Ratner and starring Billy Crystal and Ben Schwartz. Shayar’s work includes a long-standing collaboration with director Julia Hart and producer Jordan Horowitz: he edited STARGIRL, starring Grace VanderWaal and Graham Verchere, and its sequel HOLLYWOOD STARGIRL that added Uma Thurman to the cast, both for Disney+.  Prior to that he cut I’M YOUR WOMAN, starring Rachel Brosnahan for Amazon Studios.

His most recent work can be seen in the upcoming films OFF THE RECORD, directed by Kirsten Foe and SAFE SPACE, directed by Stefan Kubicki.

Shayar is an alumni of the American Film Institute and Film Independent’s Project Involve.  Between films, he enjoys exploring the diverse landscape of food LA has to offer, and spends way too much time dreaming about perfectly baked butter croissants.
